Menstrual Hygiene |
At Doctors for Seva (DFS), we recognize the urgency of spreading awareness about menstrual health. Our mission is to combat the stigma associated with menstrual health and hygiene. Leveraging the expertise of our medical team and resources such as the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) publication, we have created "Mythri," an animated video designed to make menstrual health more accessible to adolescents. The video explains the why, how, and when of periods, addressing all common questions to educate and empower young people about menstruation. Our menstrual hygiene awareness programs encourage girls to follow hygienic practices during their menstruation period. We also work on dispelling common misconceptions associated with menstruation and enable young girls to speak openly about any issues they are facing. The goal of this project is to make menstruation an approachable and discussable topic, even in rural India. Through these efforts, DFS is committed to fostering an environment where menstrual health is understood, discussed, and managed with dignity and knowledge. |
